Today's News

There seems to be an awful lot of concern on where people post things and to whom they say things. Plus, there are so many places to write. I don't know - I was always taught that you didn't write something down if you didn't want others to be able to see it. I was never good at keeping a diary and never good at journaling. I had to keep a travel journal this past summer when I was in Argentina - I had to reconstruct it the day before it was due...part of course requirements so it had to be done. I always want to write, then I get tired and fall asleep - it has not become a part of my day! Oh well...

Today I am driving halfway to Birmingham to pick up my son and his friend. A few years ago, one of their best friends from our neighborhood moved to Birmingham. This past summer his parents moved to West Palm Beach and this young man took the option of boarding for his senior year. So, since this weekend was a three day weekend the boys from here went to see their friend. The other boy's parents drove them halfway over on Friday, I'm picking up today. As my hubby and I sat here on Friday night we realized that we had allowed our 17 year old to go to Birmingham - without a chaperone! All we could do was laugh at ourselves. We would never, never have let one of our other children travel unchaperoned at 17. Someone said it's the third child thing. It should be a fairly nice drive - the weather is cold and clear - the snow has melted for the most part. What's left is icy!

I made business cards yesterday. They look very cool. I need to finish the Articles of Incorporation, get the tax stuff taken care of and filed so I can become an official 501 (c)(3) corporation. I'm also about to ship the bikes - when I get back today I am going to fax the shippers letter of instructions to DHL. They have given us a fabulous deal to ship! I can't wait. They will come to the school, pick the bikes up and ship them out. I am crossing my fingers that the packaging is still okay, that the weight isn't more than we estimated...I am waiting to hear from the business development director at the company taking our bikes - I need the names of people she is sending to pick up the bikes in Entebbe and for her to sign a release...the release is very general...

I also have to get going on my speech for this coming weekend. I will start working on it tomorrow. I have ideas in my head but I need to put them down on paper. Plus, I need to start working on some kind of power point to use for the presentation - the stuff with Heifer information on it. I'm excited, and a little nervous, make that a whole lot nervous.

Off to the gym for the morning lift!
